Yes. Only an empresa instaladora en baja tensión may install, maintain or repair low-voltage installations (REBT, art. 22). As a sole trader or company, you file a declaración responsable with the region where you are established, with at least one qualified installer and civil liability cover of at least €600,000 per claim for the básica category. Working without it is a serious offence under the Industry Act (Ley 21/1992), and a very serious one in Catalonia.

Not on the strength of the UK certificate alone. Since 1 January 2021 the UK counts as a third country for qualifications, and there is no regional exam for electricians. The routes are homologation of your qualification, accreditation of your work experience (legal residence and at least three years, with at least 2,000 hours worked, in the last 15 years), an ENAC-accredited personal certification, or a Spanish qualification such as the certificado de profesionalidad ELEE0109.

The boletín is the certificado de instalación eléctrica (CIE). Only the empresa instaladora that did the work issues it, signed by one of its own qualified installers, and it is filed with the region; the electricity supplier will not connect a new installation without it. A company may not supply certificates for work it did not carry out.

Yes, if your business is a registered empresa instaladora: the básica category covers chargers (ITC-BT-03, §3). Under ITC-BT-04, a charging installation needs a project above 50 kW, outdoors above 10 kW, or for mode 4 charging. In a comunidad de propietarios, an owner installing a charger in their own parking space only has to notify the community beforehand (Ley de Propiedad Horizontal, art. 17.5).

For 2026, yes, within limits. Homeowners can deduct 15% of the cost of a charger installed by 31 December 2026 in a property they own, on a base of up to €4,000, and a new deduction covers solar self-consumption installed in 2026: 10%, or 20% in a residential building, on a base of up to €5,000, with the installation certificate. Payment must be by card, transfer, nominative cheque or bank deposit, never in cash. Point customers to the Agencia Tributaria for the details that apply to them.

Only for the types listed in ITC-BT-05: for example premises open to the public, installations with fire or explosion risk, swimming pools above 10 kW, or EV charging that needs a project. Under the national rules, an ordinary home installation does not need an initial inspection by an OCA.

It depends on the region. In the Comunitat Valenciana, Madrid and Catalonia, homeowners are entitled to a detailed written quote before work starts, with set information such as materials, labour rates, dates and the total with VAT; in Catalonia, whenever the customer can't work out the price themselves. They can only waive it in their own handwriting, with their signature. In the Balearics, customers are entitled to a free written quote whenever the price can't be set directly; it is valid for the period it states or, if none is stated, at least 15 days. Other regions have their own rules: a written quote is always the safe choice.

Not for the urgent repair itself. Under article 103 of the consumer law (TRLGDCU), there is no right of withdrawal when the customer specifically asked you to visit for an urgent repair or maintenance job. The 14-day right still applies to extra services you provide during that visit, and to goods other than the spare parts you necessarily used.

Yes, if you say whether and how you check them. Since December 2025, reviews must relate to a job done in the 30 days before the review, and adding or commissioning fake reviews has been banned outright since 2022.
